Well I am making a concerted effort to do as many heroics as possible to help me lrn2tank better and get badge gear. So Tenryuu @ Sin’Dorei Lineage and I were talking about doing heric runs on the weekends. Anyway, today while I was doing my dailys he asked if we wanted to do the heroic daily. I asked Hiyama what he thought and he said he was fine with doing heroic Ramparts.

We formed our group of Tenryuu, Chiryuko, Hiyama and myself. Well we needed a fifth member for so I asked in gchat. Someone wanted to bring their shadowpriest and they got the last spot. We weren’t in the instance for 30 seconds before the SP took an AFK. We had a couple problems with the pulls and I was learning how to tank on heroic mode. Just so you know it’s harder then tanking Karazhan. So we were almost to the first boss when the SP started pulling without my knowledge.

Well that was just the first of many wipes and headaches from the run. Not only was one person making the run hard for the other 4 but this person was also laying the blame for anything that went wrong on other people. For example, he pulled a pat(dood and 2 dogs) that was next 3 other mobs and then when we wiped he didn’t understand how we got all 6 mobs. Then on the last boss fight he was talking bad about our healers abilities, asked a retadin to heal, and constantly complained about people in the fires. I can remember 2 distinct times I was 1 click away from booting this guy from the group.

Tenryuu was /whispering me about how this guy was doing the same stuff when he was a tankadin.

I learned nothing more about tanking from this run then I knew before because my mind wasn’t on trying to improve but trying to correct the bad pulls that this guy started. I was also too upset to really talk on vent, this guy was basically bashing my family and friends. I do have to say I am now 16 BoJ from my [item]Chestguard of the stoic guardian[/item]. Due to all the deaths I only made 4 gold from a 24 gold quest. So what is the morale of the story?

1. Don’t assume you know everything about an instance. Do your homework
2. Fess up to making mistakes (bad pulls, forgetting to keep Righteous Fury up)
3. If you AREN’T the tank don’t pull, unless the tank asks you to
4. Let the healers get full mana or tell you it’s ok to pull before pulling
5. Don’t be the guy that points fingers at everyone else
6. If you are paying attention to everyone else then you aren’t paying attention to yourself

So anyway we are going to try and do the heroic dailys when we can. One thing is for sure we are never taking that guy back in a group with us before.
